We’re so excited to be one of the sponsors for the Capital City Symphony’s Annual Family Concert this Sunday, November 17, 2014, for both the 2pm and 4pm performances.
The Capital City Symphony is a community orchestra based in Washington, D.C. It is one of the founding arts partners in the Atlas Performing Arts Center, located in Northeast DC’s Atlas District. The Capital City Symphony strives to make great orchestral music approachable by presenting affordable concerts to the public, performing creative programs in a relaxed concert format, and providing a musical outlet for talented amateur as well as professional players.
Their annual family concert is a great event that makes orchestra music fun and accessible for children (and adults!). This year they are joining with The Fourth Wall, a hybrid arts ensemble in which musicians are also dancers and actors, and together they’re going to have a huge “wow-factor”. Prior to the concert there is an instrument petting zoo where kids can get up close with instruments and their musicians.
We’ll be in the lobby at The Atlas with authors Cindy Kane, and Sumi Sexton, who will be signing books. We’ll be doing a drawing for a free ebook of one of our “mommy books” – either Bad Mommy Moments, After Birth, or Pacifiers Anonymous, and everyone who signs up for the mailing list will receive a free download of one chapter of each book. So stop by, check out the concert and say hi to us!
