sucker for love

Possibilities Publishing Company has collaborated with the Washington, DC based non-profit, SpeakeasyDC, to produce an anthology titled Sucker for Love, The Book: True Tales About Loves Found, Lost, and Imagined.  The anthology is assembled from stories originally told live on stage for SpeakeasyDC’s annual production of Sucker for Love, now in its sixth year.  As with everything SpeakeasyDC does, all of the stories are true, autobiographical, and were originally performed without the use of notes.

Contributors: Jeffrey Brady, Twain Dooley, Chris Love, Nevin Martell, Meredith Maslich, Vijai NathanJessica Piscitelli Robinson, Anne Thomas, and John Tong, with a special forward by Sucker for Love creator Stephanie Garibaldi.

Stories include:

…Anne Thomas’ hilarious and touching tale about handling the unbridled love of a much younger man.
…What happens when Nevin Martell’s love life starts to resemble a romantic comedy…in a good way.
…The wild, awful, and unexpected places that online dating takes naive-but-lovable comedian Vijai Nathan.
…Chris Love’s heartbreaking-yet-comical tale of trying to “pack away the gay” and make sense of the crush he has on his best friend.
…Jessica Piscitelli Robinson’s wry and unflinching look into the perilous world of dating after 30, especially when bellies tick, but hearts that don’t always pound.

SpeakeasyDC is a non-profit arts organization dedicated to the art and tradition of autobiographical storytelling.  A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book go to support SpeakeasyDC’s mission.

Sucker for Love, The Book will be released through all major outlets on February 14, 2013.
