Cindy Kane

Cindy Kane is a graduate of the Writing for Film and Television program of the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Her first book is Bad Mommy Moments: those short periods of time (that feel like eternities) when you do something “bad” that will haunt you for the rest of the day. Or week. Or forever.

She currently blogs at badmommymoments.com, and performs her stories with SpeakeasyDC (speakeasydc.org).
Cindy lives in Virginia with her husband, two daughters, and Maggie, the golden retriever who neither swims nor retrieves.

Her first book, Bad Mommy Moments celebrates the days of new motherhood that SUCK. Because it’s often after our worst moments that we realize how lucky we are.

Using a humorous compilation of prose, poetry, photography, and graphics, blogger Cindy Kane tracks the two-year storm of new motherhood through the mind of a woman who struggled to adjust. That is, until she traded in her dreams of perfect parenting for finding ways to laugh. At herself. And in laughter, she found unexpected hope.

Her second book, The Journey Stories, are a compilation of Christmas Eve and Easter vignettes told through the eyes of an out-casted mother fighting for the life of her son. In “A Journey” we follow Mary and Joseph as they’re turned away from relative after relative just hours before the birth of Jesus. And in “A Journey’s End” (Parts I-III) we’re with Mary as she pushes through an angry mob to find her son after his arrest. We sit with her as she mourns his death, and experience the first Easter morning by her side. The Journey Stories tell an emotional tale of one mother’s sacrifice for her son, his sacrifice for her, and the beauty of their love reunited.
